Video about "Homebody" Series Art Updates #27

Hello! I hope you had a great first month of the year! I wanted to share a story with you about how I re-learned how to slow down and re-fuel my creativity in this fast paced world.

I also talk about this topic in my newest Youtube video, and how the concept of slowing down and taking care of the home inspired the series "Homebody".

I used to be a big reader as a child.

Books were where all my free time went after creating.

Somewhere along the way, as an adult, reading became… practical.

Something to extract from or to earn after the to-do list got done.

Life got full of things I'm so grateful to be able to do! Exhibitions, teaching, painting...

And without noticing, I left the little reader in me behind.

This past fall, I started reading for pleasure again.

Stories make me think about how I see the world. They challenge my perspective and feed my creativity.

And I learned the important lesson that creatity doesn’t always come from doing more, and life doesn’t really slow down on its own.

But sometimes, we can choose to slow down and make space for what we love.

In part 1 of my newest Youtube video, I talk about the start of the "Homebody" series, and how learning how to slow down and take care of my home beame the beginnings of the series:
